Leh to Nubra Valley

Leh to Nubra Valley is one of the best sightseeing in ladak if you are visiting for the first time.

How to Reach :

By Air :-   Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport in Leh is the nearest airport. It’s around 120kms from the airport to reach the valley

By Rail :-  Jammu Tawi railway station is the nearest railway station. It’s around 320kms from the railway station to reach the valley 

By Road :- The most convenient option is traveling by road as it covers around 160kms . Use the National highway to reach Leh and then Khardung La pass road.

Let’s explore some Sight seeing of Nubra Valley

With the exceptional beauty of it’s Blue Skies , Snowclad Mountains & Emerald Trees. Ladak is one of the beautiful region in India. Where Nubra Valley is top in the list.

Around 150kms from leh the route to Nubra Valley goes through highest Motorable Pass of Khardung La along 18380ft above the sea level.

Nubra is the high altitude cold desert at the elevation of 10,000ft above the sea level. As this region comprises two valley’s connected to each other.

  1. Shoyok Valley
  2. Nubra Valley

Attraction & Things to do :-

DISKIT is the head quarters of the Nubra Valley. It is popular for housing the largest Monastery of Nubra Valley, which consists of 32meter long statue of Maitrey Buddha. It is visible from the distance when one enters the Diskit region.

HUNDAR a beautiful town about 8kms from the Diskit region. This desert is completely filled with Sand Dune’s & Camel’s This is probably the only place in India, where your camera can capture the snow peak mountain & sand dunes in one frame 

Hundar is mainly known for the Camel Safari one can ride on it. It costs around 200₹ – 500₹ depending on the ride.

KHALSAR is known for ATV ride on a Misty Sand Dune’s  goes around the river which costs 1200₹ per ride for 15 minutes 


 

Best Time To Visit :-

There is a certain period of  time to visit there we cannot go in the Winter season as it’s completely closed. The Tourist visitor’s start to visiting in the month of May till August

Day-1 : Experience the attraction along the Shoyok River

Day-2 : Experience the attraction along the Nubra River 

Things You Need:

Warm Clothes , Food & Water as you go higher the valley chances of getting the food is low, so take it accordingly. A First Aid Kit for safety purposes.
